About Logan Christopher
My name is Logan Christopher. I am a physical culturist.
I began my training at the gym like everyone else during high school, getting programs out of the bodybuilding magazines because that was what I was exposed to. After more research I found out that there was a lot more out there from bodyweight exercises to kettlebells, hand strength to strongman lifts and more. I became an avid fan reading about and training in all these modalities.
I got interested in hand balancing after watching my friend walk on his hands. From that point on I have steadily worked on increasing my skills. I joined an adult gymnastics class even though I had no prior gymnastic experience. With their help and facilities I increased my tumbling and hand balancing skills. Though I do not currently train there, I have taken those lessons with me.
Hand balancing use to be something that almost everyone practiced to some degree. All weightlifters had various amounts of experience, though that is far from the case today. I aim to bring hand balancing back to everyone with this site.

Hey,
I read your emails and Blogs occasionaly and lately Iv been progressing loads with my Handbalanceing. This is because, due to personal reasons, I’ve been quite stressed lately and I’v found that the physical activity takes my mind off stuff.
As such I would liken myself to a todler lately. Up until a few months a go i was ‘cool’ coz i could do a handstand on average for maybe 5 seconds and then get down with out falling flat on my face. however, now that i spend about 50% of my free time on my hands iv found that i can now average close to 30 secs in a stand, with a best time of about 2 and a half mins ‘wandering’ i.e. just keeping my feet off the floor and adujusting my hand position rather than walking anywhere (though i did walk the length of the longest corridor at my college the other day xD).I now just ‘mess around’ at college (nearly got kicked out for doing a handstand on the roof) and do handstands pretty much everywhere. Its such good fun and as i said, takes my mind off the stress.
I know this probably doesn’t mean much but I thought you might like to hear of someone who has lately been making good progress in a topic that not many persue and which you evidently hold close to your heart.
All the best in the future mate,
Sam
@Sam: Glad to hear of your success Sam. I always enjoy reading about people who improve their skills. Just goes to show you what practice will do and how fast you can gain.
Logan! Thanks so much for putting up this website! I’ve wanted to get into this for a while now, then somehow I found you’re site. I’ve been practicing in the past month or so and have learned a few new tricks, I learned how to do a handstand from you and I havent stopped working since I read your articles. Thanks to you teaching me and my buddy how to do a frogstand, we’ve been able to progess into holding our handstands instead of depending on a wall. Also once I saw the proper technique for a one handed handstand, I was able to hold that against the wall without tumbling over. I’ve also be trying to branch out with my acrobatics for a while thanks to you and wanting to do parkour since I was 16, last week I pulled off my first front handspring and got it on the first try. I hate lifting weights so I’ve been trying to find something fun that will keep me in shape, now that I found all this bodyweight stuff im not as bored anymore.
I appreciate your site and the time you spend making it better.
God bless and happy handbalancing.
I want to learn so much about handstanding. I have watched your videos on youtube and little luck. But I wont stop trying and I can get up but cant stay balanced.any tips?
Have you got any articles or tips on training for the Pike press to handstand? Im trying to learn with good technique but finding it difficult. Thank you
@Corey: There is a little bit scatted through the site. Use the search box to find more. Also I’ll have more on those skills in the near future.
@Blake: Keep practicing and studying. These skills don’t come easy but must be met with perseverance.
I I used to hand stands all the time but my wrists started to hurt and I stopped.
It’s been over 6 months since my last handstand but my wrist still hurt during pushups and the like, anyway I can fix this?
I want to work handstands again.
Hi Logan,
Just wondering if you are able to ship the balancing stands to the UK?
Good day!

Really great sites – thanks so much for doing this. I shall immediately link our blog to your site and, if you approve of what you see there, maybe you would do the same!
hey logan,
im 17 yrs old and am fiarly flexible ,
i dont do gymnastics or anything but im really interested in flexibility and handbalancing looks awesome,
i saw cirque de soleil the other day and i kinda wanna join the circus now =)
i can do the the splits, bridge, basic gymnastics moves but have no upper body strength
im thinking of ordering the yoga trapeeze to improve my overall strength and flexibility , is it any good ?
im thinking if i can gain more strength then i’ll be able to do so much more.
@Katie Pizzey: The yoga trapeze is a fun tool to use. You can do lots on it that really can’t be done any other way. Of course there are many other ways to build strength and flexibility too. I wouldn’t say the yoga trapeze is necessary.
